Education & Publication Trust

AFST(I) Educational & Publication Trust (AFST(I) E&PT) was formed in 1988 as a sister organization of AFST(I). The office of the Trust shall be located at AFST (I) office CFTRI Campus Mysore. The activities of the Trust shall be limited with in India and any other countries with which Govt.of India has diplomatic relations.

Activities & Objectives of the Trust

To stimulate research on various aspects of Food Science and Technology. The organization has made commendable progress in awarding yearly scholarships to merited students in the field of Food Science and Technology, from the interest accrued on its corpus fund. The Trust also supports assisted scientists with financial grants for writing books and monographs in the field.

  • To invest Trust funds in income yielding investments as per the provisions of the Income Tax Act and for any exemption under IT Act.
  • To open an account in any Schedule Bank in the name of the Trust.
  • To incur necessary expenditure for carrying out the aims and objectives of the Trust.
  • To expel to borrow money any trustee who acts against the interest and objectives of Trust.
  • On the securities, properties and assets of the trust for the beneficial use of the trust in case of absolute necessity.
  • In case of death or resignation of any trustee, the remaining trustees can co-opt another person in whom they have faith.
  • To co-opt another Trustee in place of diseased or resigned Trustee.To reconstitute the Trust once in 4 years by retiring 1/3rd of existing trustees.
  • No trustee shall go to court of law without prior permission of the Trust.

Dissolution Trust

The Trust shall go for dissolution after a resolution to that effect is passed by the majority of the trustees in its meeting and later approved in two consecutive AGBM meetings of AFST (I) by 3/4th majority members who are entitled to vote. In the event of dissolution or winding up of the Trust, the assets remaining on the date of dissolution shall automatically be transferred to AFST (I) Head Quarters.
